For security professionals

Clear assignments. Clear time records. A direct route to support.

Register basic interest in security-sector work coordinated through CP Protect. Registration is not work-finding, an employment offer or an assignment; the required engagement and assignment information must come first.

Before you register

Interest is not a guarantee of work.

Assignments depend on client demand, role criteria, location, availability and completion of the required process.

Worker experience

Know what you are being asked to do.

Before you confirm an assignment, you should have the available information needed to understand the work, engagement, pay, risks and route for questions.

Register your interest

Assignment

  • Role and expected duties
  • Location and reporting point
  • Shift date, duration and working hours
  • Known health-and-safety risks and controls

Engagement

  • Agreed rate and pay-cycle information
  • Responsible contracting or employing party
  • Expenses, deductions and required documents

Support

  • Operational contact route
  • Time-record instructions
  • Process for raising a query or complaint
Before work-finding begins

The documents depend on CP Protect's legal role.

Calling a service recruitment, labour supply or payroll does not decide the legal relationship. The written documents must match what will actually happen.

If CP Protect is an employment agency

CP Protect introduces you for possible direct engagement by a hirer. The terms must explain the work-finding service and the hirer must identify the employment or engagement it offers.

If CP Protect is an employment business

CP Protect engages and supplies a temporary work-seeker to work under a hirer's supervision. The required Key Information Document, terms and assignment information must be provided at the proper time.

If CP Protect only processes payroll

Payroll administration does not by itself make CP Protect your employer. Your employer or engaging party, payment route, PAYE and query responsibilities must be identified in writing.

Registration records interest only.

CP Protect must not begin temporary work-finding under an employment- business model until the documents required for that model have been supplied. If the information is missing or inconsistent, ask for clarification before accepting work.

How it works

From expression of interest to completed time record.

The exact steps depend on the role and engagement model. You should receive written confirmation before relying on any proposed assignment.

  1. 01

    Register interest

Share basic contact details, experience, availability and preferred locations without sending identity or payroll documents.

  2. 02

    Receive the engagement information

Where an employment-business model applies, receive the required Key Information Document and written terms before work-finding begins.

  3. 03

    Provide information securely

Use only the approved collection route for documents that are necessary for the proposed role and engagement.

  4. 04

    Review an assignment

Receive written role, location, shift, rate, duration, expense, health-and-safety and engagement information.

  5. 05

    Confirm availability

Accept only after the assignment terms and required next steps are clear.

  6. 06

    Record time

Submit time information through the process stated for the assignment.

Information you may need

Keep your records current and ready to review.

Required information varies by assignment and engagement. Do not put identity documents, bank details, National Insurance details, right-to-work evidence or criminal-record information in the website enquiry. Wait for an approved collection route and a clear explanation of why the information is required.

Personal information

  • Current contact details
  • Identity and right-to-work information where requested
  • Availability and travel preferences

Role information

  • Relevant experience
  • Current SIA licence details for licensable roles
  • Required training or qualifications for the assignment

Time and payroll

  • Assignment reference
  • Submitted time records
  • Details of any query or discrepancy
Fair access and adjustments

Role-relevant decisions and a route to ask for support.

Selection criteria must relate to the role, lawful licence or qualification requirements and the ability to perform the work. A decision must not be based unlawfully on a protected characteristic.

Need an adjustment or want to raise a concern?

Use the contact route to request a reasonable adjustment for the registration or communication process. Use the complaints route if you believe information, selection, pay, treatment or safety has not been handled properly.

Worker questions

Important answers before you register.

If an assignment document conflicts with this general information, contact the team and ask for clarification before accepting or attending the shift.

Do I need an SIA licence?

A licensable security role requires the appropriate current SIA licence. Other requirements depend on the assignment and will be stated before deployment.

Does registering guarantee work?

No. Assignments depend on client demand, location, role criteria, availability and the agreed engagement process. Work is confirmed only in writing.

Will I be employed by CP Protect?

Not necessarily. If CP Protect proposes to act as an employment business, the required documents must explain the engagement and payment arrangements before work-finding begins. If CP Protect only makes an introduction, the hirer may engage you directly. Do not rely on the website as confirmation of employment status.

Who is responsible for paying me?

The written engagement documents must identify the paying party and pay cycle. Where CP Protect operates as the employment business supplying a temporary work-seeker, statutory payment duties cannot be transferred simply by naming a payroll provider.

How will pay information be provided?

The agreed rate, time-record process, pay-cycle information and query route should be provided with the relevant engagement or assignment documents.

Where are assignments available?

Locations change with current client demand. Share where you can realistically travel and the team will contact you only where there may be a suitable requirement.

Does CP Protect charge workers to find work?

CP Protect must not charge a work-seeker a fee for work-finding services where the Conduct Regulations prohibit it. Any optional product or service would need to be separate, lawful and clearly explained before a worker chose it.
